Obituary for Ryan John Kowalski

Ryan John Kowalski
Ryan John Kowalski, 22, of Coral Springs, FL, was called home to be with Our Lord on October 11, 2017. Ryan is survived by his parents Deborah (Hafner) Kowalski of Tamarac and Kenneth Kowalski of Coral Springs, and his sister Amy Kowalski of Coral Springs. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Sharon Hafner of Tamarac, paternal grandparents Winifred and Henry Kowalski of Boynton Beach; and several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, relatives, friends, and much loved family members Candy and Spencer Allen.

Ryan was born on October 3, 1995 in Coral Springs. He graduated from J. P. Taravella High School in 2015. Ryan was blessed with intelligence, confidence, athletic ability, warm brown eyes, a huge smile, fantastic wit and the warmest heart. Ryan played many sports growing up but he excelled at swimming & baseball. He also enjoyed fishing with friends and golfing with family. Ryan loved going to amusement parks and riding roller coasters. He also loved family get-togethers, and especially family poker nights.

Ryan was an active volunteer with Special Olympics Broward because of his sister Amy, who has special needs. As a Unified Partner, he participated in bowling, basketball and volleyball. He helped athletes learn new skills, develop those skills, and compete in various competitions both locally and nationally. The athletes loved Ryan as much as he loved them.

Ryan’s life was way too short, but in his short time he touched many lives. With Ryan’s passing we are reminded that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, we are thankful for the many wonderful memories we have shared. We love him deeply and he will remain forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for masses in his name, or for donations to support Team “In Memory of Ryan Kowalski” at the Special Olympics Sallarulo’s Race for Champions, at the following site: Donate to Ryan's Special Olympics Team Here
