Old Friends

Remember meeting Dave, after our wifes became best friends. For what ever reason we started talking about hockey. Laughed about trying to play when we were kids. Using Sears books or Yellow pages as shin pads under long hunter socks we had as kids. Loved talking to him about hockey, this was before the Panthers. I remember going to the NHL show at the arena. Getting our pictures taken with the Stanley Cup. Rose was getting Pictures signed by some old time players and told them her husband was from Canada, and they said they where sorry. We just talked on and on, about the sport. A real man, never said anything bad about anyone. You knew he would like to but it was not his way. Loved Rose and his family with out any doubts. Not a complicated thing, this was the way he was. An honor to know him, and call him my friend. Last conversation I had with him was the best. We where like two old dogs sitting in the sun, glad to talk to each other. Bless him his family, and his friends. A great man to know and call friend.
