John James  Maliff Sr.
John​ ​J​ ​Maliff,​ ​(92) passed way peacefully Tuesday October 3, 2017 in Tamarac, Florida. He was born Febuary 22, 1925 in North Easton, MA to Richard and Elizabeth (Mahoney) Maliff. Served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 until Honorably discharged as an Aviation Cadet, Corporal in 1946. Married the late Barbara A Freeman in 1948 until her passing in 2015. Graduated from Boston University in 1951 with a BA in Business Administration. Worked for One Beacon Insurance formerly Commercial Union Insurance Co for 35 years retiring as a Management Executive in 1986. Father of four children; John Jr of Sunrise FL, Paul C, deceased, Jeanne Bottum of Raleigh NC and Mark A, deceased. Grandfather to 5; Brenden, Keith, Ryan, Tiffany and Stephen. In 1990 he retired to Pelican Bay Country Club in Daytona Beach FL where he enjoyed Golf, Fishing and Volunteering. He was a member of Pelican Bay C.C., CPCU Society, Daytona Beach Elks and American Legion. Visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange FL from 2:00 to 4:00pm October 13, 2017. Burial will be on October 20, 2017 at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton MA.
