She is survived by her loving daughter Dolores Emmerich as well as her grandchildren Richard Emmerich, Heather Bullard, Mikel Bullard, Jeannie Guadagno, Kyle Martin and Niki Galletta. Born in Union City, New Jersey on October 27th 1922 to Elias and Bertha Saydah, Doris was raised in North Bergen, New Jersey. She grew up with a love of being active and social; by the time she was in high school Doris was planning a dance party in her mother’s house every Friday night for girls only. From a young age she cooked and baked, learning from her own grandmother, and her family and friends will always remember her for her skill in the kitchen. Doris was a homemaker, she loved her family and they were the most important thing in the world to her. She loved reading mystery novels and watching movies- but only the classics.

Doris had a great sense of humor, and a perseverance of spirit that followed her from the beginning to the end of her life. She was not a complainer; she was Kind and warm and generous. She was the best person to go to when you needed a hug. Doris was loving and inclusive, never mean-spirited; her memory is one of smiles and laughter.

A Memorial Mass for Doris will be held at St.Malachy's Catholic Church at 10am on Saturday, May 6th 2017. It will be followed by a memorial gathering at Coral Springs Funeral Home beginning at 12pm, to be held until 3pm.
