Frances Lee  Burckhartt
Frances Lee Burckhartt, born January 5, 1939 entered into eternal rest on March 30th, 2017. She is survived by her children, Vicki (Danny) Cummings, Cindy (Pete) Desmond, Carrie (Carla) Burckhartt, and Marybeth (Ben) Carver. She is further survived by her brother, Johnny (Beverly) Lisac. She leaves a legacy of six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Fran is preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Burckhartt.

Born in Granite City, Illinois to Vensel and Margaret Lisac, Fran grew up actively involved in her school and her community. She loved planning and attending social events. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Art Education from Florida International University. She taught at Coral Springs High School for many years, inspiring future generations with her love for art.

In 1989 Fran married her high school sweetheart Larry Burckhartt, and they brought their families together. She loved being a mom and loved spending time with her family. She planned many vacations and shared her love of traveling by taking trips with family and friends. She especially loved to travel to Las Vegas, known for playing penny slots and enjoying anything Elvis. When Fran was not traveling she spent her time making many different crafts.

Fran was a happy, positive woman who spread love to everyone she spoke with. She was filled with unconditional love, accepting people for who they were. She will be dearly missed, and dearly remembered.

Friends are welcome to join the family for Fran’s graveside service and burial at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery on Monday April 3rd at 1pm. In lieu of flowers the Family asks that donations please be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. You can donate in Fran's memory at the link below.
