Carolyn Alanis Wiggans
Carolyn A. Wiggans, 35, of Tamarac, FL passed away the weekend of March 4th 2017. She is survived by her loving parents Lupita and Richard Wiggans as well as her brother Keith R. Wiggans, his wife Norelia, and their son Kaden; and her sister Katherine Stone and her husband Steve. Left to cherish her memory are her many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. She will be dearly missed.
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Lupita and Richard on April 21st, 1981, Carolyn grew up as the middle child of her family. She was a precocious and talented child, learning to read and write early at the age of three. She was always very active and loved new accomplishments. She loved the water and joined a swim team at age 5, the same age when she learned to ride her bicycle. By age six she was doing gymnastics and competitive swimming. In addition, she began piano lessons and was so proficient that she distinguished herself by competing and winning many local and state-wide piano competitions. As a middle school and high school student, Carolyn not only excelled academically but also as an accomplished athlete as a swimmer and triathlete. Carolyn received both academic and athletic scholarships to Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Humanities.
Carolyn loved life and lived to the fullest. Her hobbies included creating gourmet meals and understanding both the history of each ingredient as well as the agricultural and nutritional value of each meal. She understood good food and great restaurants and knew the value of a good meal. As an adult Carolyn took up road cycling and enjoyed riding with her father and his friends on the weekends. She was a strong cyclist and liked to race up the inclines and leave her father's friends in the dust. Carolyn loved animals and saw them as creatures worthy of being cared for and protected. In particular, she cared for lovebirds and cats. Her beloved cat, Mamma Kitty, is now being loved and protected by her parents. Carolyn was also a very talented make-up artist, mostly self taught, but arising from her part-time work with Lancome during her college years. She especially enjoyed creating new color combinations for eye shadows to fit any occasion. The amazing thing about Carolyn was that she could excel in any area that she chose because she gave 100% of her effort to her natural talent.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Carolyn will be held on Saturday March 11th from 5-8 pm at Coral Springs Funeral Home.
