Obituary for Kathryn Arena

Kathryn Arena
Heaven gained another beautiful angel on January 4, 2017 when Kathryn Arena, 62, of Coral Springs, FL passed away. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Vito and Rachel Licciardi, she was one of 5 children.

Kathryn graduated from Staten Island Community College with a degree in Nursing and then began working for Long Island College Hospital. In June of 1976, Kathryn and Frank married and relocated to South Florida where they both began long careers as medical professionals. Her career with Broward Home Care spanned over 25 years and she retired as the Director of Nursing. A passionate woman, she was blessed with a caring, loving soul and was the ideal nurse. She had strong family values and enjoyed cooking so she always brought her family together for dinner on Sundays and especially Holidays. Through the last 9 years of battling cancer, Kathryn always had her faith and love of God. She was a true warrior.

Kathryn is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Frank; their children, Frank Vito (Belinda) Arena, and Anthony (Tara) Arena; her mother, Rachel Licciardi; and her siblings, Dominic (Donna) Licciardi, Nancy (Raymond) DeCandia, Edward (Deborah) Licciardi, and Eugenia (Stephen) Barone. Also left to cherish her memory are her mothers-in-laws, Nancy and Dolores; 10 nieces and nephews, and her four-legged "grandchilden," Sammie and Cas. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Vito Licciardi, and her father-in-law, Frank Arena.
