Obituary for
Leonard Sasso
Leonard Sasso, 85, of Coral Springs, FL passed away at home on June 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Rose; 5 children, Peter Sasso, Louis Sasso (Amy), Marisa Hall (Luther), Leonard Sasso, Jr. (Molly) and Roseanne Sasso; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Victoria; and a brother, Mario.
Leonard was born on October 3, 1930 in Castelnuovo di Conza, Italy and immigrated to the US with his family in 1936 settling in Newark, NJ. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and then served in the United States Army from 1952-54. During this time he attended the Army Finance School at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indiana and was then stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX. Leonard earned the National Defense Service Medal and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, Leonard worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation/ABB for 45 years. Leonard was also a founding parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Coral Springs.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon with internment to follow at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
